I was newly married, I was ambitious, and while it probably seemed from the outside that I was doing everything right, the pressure and tension of my lifestyle kept me just below boiling point all day, every day.
Most of the Time, I Could Barely Keep it Together…
I didn’t know this then, but after a decade of biomedical research, I now understand that this type of intense stress over time (stress that I’m sure you’re all too familiar with) actually causes biochemical changes in your body that can lead to massive weight gain.

This happens to everyone once and awhile, and we can fight it off; but when you’re chronically stressed like I was, your cravings are insatiable, day-in and day-out.

Chronic stress mimics a famine state. Your body gets confused and signals you to eat more food in an attempt to keep you safe. Your primitive biology gets mixed up by our modern world—and the results can be devastating.
I remember nights when I’d have 3 different restaurant delivery guys at my door at the same time. I’d turn up the music really loud so they’d think there was a party going—but there was no party. It was just me.
I can laugh about it today, but it wasn’t funny when food took up so much of my conscious thought and seemed to control me throughout the day. Like most people, I thought it was my fault. I thought I just needed to find the perfect diet or get a better fitness program.
But What I Learned Was Completely Unexpected…
After trying and failing at all the traditional approaches to weight loss, I became a fanatical researcher and uncovered a “stress-and-fat connection” that no one was talking about back then.
Very quickly, I realized that all the diet and exercise knowledge in the world was useless if I didn’t balance my body naturally, from the inside out. While everyone focused on calories, my research revealed that hormones held the real key to weight gain and weight loss.
And I’m happy to report that I was on to something.
Over a period of 2 1/2 years, I lost an amazing 220 lbs, and completely transformed my body and my life. I’ve kept the weight off now for 10 years, and I’ve taught this inside-out approach to weight loss to over 350,000 people all across the globe through my books, coaching programs, and seminars.
And I’m pleased to say that this method with its mind-body focus is finally being embraced by both the mainstream and alternative doctors worldwide. Why? Because your mental and emotional health lay the foundation for your physical health.
