Losing Weight is a Healing Journey

Today I want to share with you a powerful weight loss insight that changed my life and I have a feeling it could do the same for you too. This insight had such a profound effect on my own life that I have written a book sharing how this one distinction enabled me to change my health and how I felt about my weight and perhaps most importantly, about myself. In the process, I lost over 60 pounds and kept it off for over 13 years. In the process I also stopped taking prescription medication as I naturally cleared my eczema, my asthma and my chronic fatigue syndrome.

Losing Weight is a Healing Journey
Losing weight is a healing journey; it is not about going “on a diet”. Permanent weight loss is about empowering yourself with knowledge and taking responsibility for your health. Losing weight is about choosing to go on your own journey of healing.
A healing journey is about taking a holistic approach to your life. Understand that no one can expect to lose weight for good through just diet and exercise. To lose weight for good it is important to also work with your mind, your thoughts and your emotions. On your healing journey, take time to address and heal your inner world of thoughts and emotions as well as the outer world of diet and exercise. You will reap incredible reward for doing so.
No Two Journeys Are The Same
Your healing journey is about you looking at your life and doing what you need to do to get well inside and outside. Someone else’s healing journey is about them looking within and doing what they need to heal. Each healing journey will look totally different but successful journeys always yield the same results: They will help you to develop high levels of self love, self confidence, self esteem and will leave you feeling empowered. You will realize that not only can you lose weight, you can do anything!
Instead, of focusing on “losing weight” begin to shift your focus to “healing your life”. This happens naturally when you focus on 3 areas:

  • healing your body
  • healing your mind
  • healing your emotions

Healing Your Body
Food not only has the ability to change what you look like, it can also shift how you think and feel. Healing foods are low in toxicity and therefore encourage the body to thrive. Eating healing foods will give you the ability to self-heal and experience having high energy levels.
So what are healing foods? Healing foods are real foods. These foods are close to how nature intended for them to be eaten and are free from chemicals, additives, flavourings, colourings, preservatives, herbicides, insecticides or any other nasties.
Everyone eats food but the key thing here is to ensure that you are eating the right types of foods that are yummy but also full of nutrition.
