Since our third Detox Coaching program last year, Gabriel Method community members around the world have asked when we would offer another live group detox. I’m excited to announce that The Gabriel Method Detox is back this May.
I’m recruiting a group of people to work directly with myself and my team during a live, virtual cleanse where we’ll go through a comprehensive, full body detox protocol together, step-by-step.

It’s True: Most Detoxes Are Crazy
When I was struggling to lose weight, I tried just about everything you can imagine.
I did the no carb Atkins diet, and the low fat Pritikin Diet—and everything in between. I’m sure you know that feeling when you’re so desperate to lose weight you’ll try anything. And so I did and along the way, I also tried a few different detoxification programs.
I’m sure you’ve heard of some of these programs before…
Some programs are just ridiculous, like drinking lemonade and maple syrup for 10 days straight; but many of the programs I tried actually did make me feel incredible at first, but there were 2 huge problems.
First, there was always a focus on restriction and controlled starvation. So for an entire week, I was hungry most of the day. I now know what starvation does to your body. On a hormonal level, it’s a disaster. The moment you come off the program, you can’t stop eating.
Secondly, some of the cleanses did allow juices or shakes, but they usually recommended sweet fruit juices. I love fresh, whole fruit, but I’ve learned that drinking fruit juice is very different than eating it whole; and too much sugary juice can really mess up your fat hormones—especially when that’s all you eat for a week straight.
With most cleansing programs, unfortunately, the pattern is the same. When you pair severe calorie restriction with sporadic high sugar juices for a week, it leaves you in a terrible place hormonally, and it causes fierce cravings afterwards because your body thinks it’s starving and wants to protect you.
To add insult to injury, as an unwanted side effect, this starvation state creates a severe chemical imbalance.
The Gabriel Method philosophy is that we must work with our body, not fight it. The aim is to understand and respect our biochemistry, so we can restore balance and lose weight naturally. My approach is the opposite of traditional diets, so when I gave up dieting once and for all (over a decade ago), I also swore off all those “detox” programs too.
Like most diet stuff, I figured they just didn’t work for weight loss.
There is a Better Way
Everything changed about 3 years ago when I learned about an effective way to detoxify your body that can actually help with hormonal balance at the same time.
It’s a win-win; and when done right, it can be extremely powerful for transforming your body and life.
After consulting with experts in the field and my own trusted medical advisors, I developed a protocol I call, The Gabriel Method Detox. I’m convinced it’ll become the new standard for metabolically-safe cleansing, and you’ll be hearing more and more about it in the future.
Obviously, toxins can be harmful to your health. They can cause everything from chronic fatigue to cancer, but many people don’t realize that toxins can actually make you gain and hold onto weight.
This is why detoxification done right is so helpful for weight loss.
The “Overlooked” Hormonal Connection
Between Toxins & Fat Storage
Toxins from our food and the environment can cause internal inflammation that creates resistance to two of the most important fat storage hormones: leptin and insulin.
When you eat lots of processed foods, take lots of medications, or have a high level of toxic exposure in your life (this is very common), your body stops “hearing” these important fat hormones, and the result is you’ll be hungrier and hungrier for no reason.
And it gets worse…
Simultaneously, your body becomes more and more efficient at gaining and storing fat—rather than burning it. If you have a weight problem, I’m sure you know that feeling when your body takes control and seems to want you to gain weight.
Toxins Can Actually Make You Hungrier
Let’s take a closer look at one of the most well-known toxic offenders: MSG.
It’s a neurotoxic flavor enhancer added to thousands of packaged foods and some research has shown that people who eat MSG can eat as much as 30% more food on a daily basis as a result.
This is an extreme example, but it illustrates just how damaging these toxins can be if you’re trying to lose weight.
In an ideal and more natural world, your body does a great job at getting rid of as many toxins as it can. The garbage in/garbage out process is normally very effective.
But in our modern world, we often take in more toxins than our bodies can effectively remove—at least not right away—and in order to keep us safe, our bodies will sometimes surround those toxins with fat cells that act as a “buffer” of protection, keeping them out of your blood stream and keeping you out of harm’s way.
This is why toxicity and weight gain go hand-in-hand, and also why helping your body cleanse safely can enable the internal shift needed to naturally reduce your cravings and help you lose weight.
How Detoxification Works & Why You Need To Do It
Studies have shown that babies have 200+ petrochemical toxins at birth, and many adults have 300+ toxins of various types stored in their body, primarily in body fat and mucus. Common sources of toxin exposure in our everyday lives includes:
- Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides
- Flame retardants
- Air & water pollution
- Food preservatives, colorings & additives
- Plastic bottles, packaging and dishware
- Large fish (that we eat)
- Factory farmed animal foods
- Household cleaners
- Body care items (toothpaste, lotions, creams, soaps)
Our bodies are very resilient and can tolerate an impressive amount of abuse. Everyday, your body will do everything it can to keep your safe from toxins, eliminating them through your liver and kidneys and excreting them through your breath, your sweat, and your urine and feces.
Every time you exhale, go to the bathroom, or perspire, you are actually cleansing your body. But your body has a limit to how much it can process at once and still maintain health; so if there are too many toxins, your body will not be able to excrete them all safely.
Instead it’ll lock them away in fat or mucus stores for a later time.
And if that “safe time” never comes? Then those toxins can stay inside you for a very long time. But the moment you free up your body’s resources by reducing the burden of digestion; and when you provide the antioxidant and chelating plants needed to assist in the cleansing process, your body starts to detoxify many times faster than its normal rate…
… all you have to do is breath, sweat, and go to the bathroom. It’s perfectly natural, and this is why detoxification done right is non-invasive, safe and effective.

Program Structure: Two Weeks At-a-Glance
PHASE I: THE PRE-CLEANSE
The first 7 days, we’ll spend doing what’s called a pre-cleanse. This is a simple and fun learning process where we’ll add delicious cleansing foods to your life, practice meditation and visualization together, and try to avoid some of the more common allergens and toxins so we can start the cleanse the following week with a head start.
During the pre-cleanse phase, we’ll have 3 live webinars together where we’ll go over how to prepare your kitchen, your mindset, and your body for cleanse to come. We’ll also share recipes, talk about how to purchase and clean veggies, and so much more.
Food, Juice & Superfoods
In the pre-cleanse week, you’ll learn about juicers and blenders, yummy superfoods, and how to grocery shop for healthy foods on a budget. The entire program is focused on helping busy people like you uncover extraordinary health, so we’ll keep it practical and simple so you can put it to use right way.
Your Daily Schedule
During the pre-cleanse week, we’ll go over the daily schedule in detail, and tweak it as needed to fit with your life. There is no pass or fail on The Gabriel Method Detox—everyone can be successful once you have a plan. So we’ll review your juices, shakes, and superfoods, and we’ll also have a backup plan in case you get a food craving at 10am—or even the middle of the night.
PHASE II: The Cleanse Days
The cleanse period is 5 days long. From Monday to Friday, you’ll enjoy delicious, creamy herbal teas in the mornings (yes, creamy!), amazing fresh juices and shakes throughout the day, and comforting soups in the evening. When done correctly, you won’t feel hungry at all. If you do, then something is wrong and we’ll adjust the program to custom-fit your needs. You’re meant to feel light, energized, and well-nourished throughout.
Your Daily Schedule At-a-Glance
- 7 am – Detox Visualization (AM)
The morning visualization practice is a short but extremely important practice where you’ll set an intention for your day and establish the mindset and inner peace that will help support you mentally and emotionally during you cleanse.
- 8 am – Juice I & Detox Tea w/Coconut or MCT Oil
While cleansing, it’s nice to start your day with something warm and creamy. The Gabriel Method signature Detox Tea is fast and easy to make, it’s also delicious and satiating, made with extremely healthful, energy-provided fats that will help transition your body from a sugar burning metabolism toward that of a fat-burning metabolism.
- 10 am – Juice II
There are a variety of recipes and options for your morning juice, so check out the video recipes, get creative, and enjoy! Remember to drink water with your juices, and always focus on low-sugar, mostly vegetable juices.
- 12 pm – Juice III
Pick your favorite juicy recipe and enjoy!
- 2 pm – Omega-3 Shake
Most people suffer from omega-3 deficiencies. Omega-3’s are essential fats that our body cannot create—so we must eat them or we don’t get them. A lack of omega-3 fats is associated with mood disorders, food cravings, inflammation, and impaired cognitive abilities. While cleansing, it’s imperative that we nourish our bodies with this essential fat from chia, flax or fish oil.
- 3 pm – Juice IV
Pick your favorite juicy recipe and enjoy!
- 5 pm – Juice V
Pick your favorite juicy recipe and enjoy!
- 7 pm – Detox Soup & Omega-3 Shake
Detox Soup is a delicious and savory vegetable broth that is a comforting end of day cleansing “meal.” Along with your soup, be sure to have another Omega-3 shake. The essential fats will help you feel full and sleep through the night, and the soluble fiber will help to keep your bowels regular.
- 9 pm – Evening Visualization
The Gabriel Method Evening Visualization is used by hundreds of thousands of people all over the world each night before bed. It’s an extremely effective way to relieve stress, reduce your stress hormones, and create the mind-body shift needed for lasting change. Listen in bed, and if you fall asleep listening, that’s just perfect.
- Before Bed – Evening Cleanse Visualization (15-30 minutes)
Live Classes w/Jon! During the cleanse, you and I (and the entire group) will meet online for a live class each day where we’ll explore ultra-practical ways to detoxify your home and bath, your kitchen, and your emotional life too! If you have questions, my coaching team and I will be there for you every day.
You can speak with me live or just send a quick note if that’s easier. The great thing about this program is that it’s personalized, and we’ll all be going through this together. The daily sessions are a great time to learn powerful strategies for living a super healthy life, and they’re also great for connecting and supporting one another through this process. All of the sessions are recorded, so if you aren’t able to catch the live call, you can watch the replay at a time that is best for you.
Worried you don’t have time? Many people are worried they won’t have time to cleanse, but after the first day, you’ll realize how much more free time you’ll have while cleansing because the food and juice prep usually takes half (or less) the time it normally takes to prepare and eat meals. Some people find an extra 1-2 hours per day which makes it really easy to dig in and learn about these exciting new health topics.
You’ve probably heard about detoxification programs where people have so little energy they have to lie around all day long—that’s not what this program is like. In most cases, you can do this cleanse and keep up with your normal life including work, family, and even any fitness routines you might enjoy.
You’ll be well-nourished and energized, and you’ll be able to go to work and carry on with business as usual.
You’ll definitely go to the bathroom more often, there might be times when you feel a little spaced out or groggy; but for the most part, you’ll feel great. As you’d probably guess, I’m going to encourage you to spend more time doing visualizations and taking walks outdoors, but again, most of these things you’ll find extremely fun and enjoyable.
Do I Need Expensive Pills or Kitchen Gadgets?
No, you don’t need any special equipment to participate. Some of our participants are even joining us while on business trips, so they’ll be living out of hotel rooms the entire time (and it still works!).
If you have a juicer or access to a juice bar, that’s ideal, but even if you don’t have that, we have work-around’s and alternatives for just about everything. This is meant to be fun, simple and easy.
- Juicer is recommended (but not required). If you have any type of juicer, you can make your own fresh juices. If you do not have one, you can use your blender (I’ll show you how) or you could visit a local juice bar. Any of these options are just great.
- Blender is recommended (but not required). This is useful for making blended shakes, broths, and mixing up your morning Creamy Cleansing Tea. If you do not have a juicer, you can use your blender to make juices as well. This is a simple trick. I’ll show you exactly how to do it.
- Supplements are helpful but not required. As a detox participant, you may choose to take supplements you like such as spirulina, chlorella, or fish oils, which can be helpful in detoxification, but they are not required.
- Superfoods are helpful and one specific type is required. Either flax or chia seeds. You can buy these at any health food store, they are extremely cheap, and they’ll provide your body with anti-inflammatory omega-3’s during our cleanse along with an extremely helpful source of fiber to keep you regular.
