Jon:  

Even the visualization CD actually has what’s called a frequency following response in it helps you fall asleep and get into a deep sleep. And so many people have told me that they were getting the best sleep of their life. It still benefits you because your subconscious is still doing the visualization, even when you’re sleeping, and so you’re still getting all of the benefit of the CD even when you’re falling asleep. So it’s not a problem that you fall asleep listening to it. It’s actually a really good thing, because the deeper you can sleep, the lower your cortisol levels are going to be, the lower your stress levels are going to be, and the more the FAT programs will turn off, and the more your body will shift its set point.

Kelly:  

John, do some people listen to it more than once a day?

Jon:  

Yes. If you’re the type of person that’s under a lot of stress and if you have junk food cravings in the afternoon, like around 4:00, and people typically do when their FAT programs are turned on because when your FAT programs are on, you can’t really regulate your blood sugar properly and you get low blood sugar episodes, usually in the afternoons and in the late evenings. And when you have those low blood sugar episodes, you start craving sweets. So stress will also activate those low blood sugar episodes.

So if you’re the type of person who either gets junk food cravings in the afternoon, or if you’re living a high-stress life, I recommend that you listen to the CD in the afternoon around 3:30. Just take a twenty minute break. And it’s best to also eat something around 3:30 that have the components of the foods that I talk about adding, which is something live, something with protein, something with Omega 3s. Those are the three types of foods that I talk about adding and then listen to the CD.

And what happens is you get home, and normally you get home if you’re working all day, and then you’ve got that low blood sugar episode in the afternoon, and you get home and you’re just tired and you’re hungry and you’re exhausted and stressed out, that doesn’t happen. What happens is you get home and you’re refreshed and you’re relaxed and you eat dinner calmly, and you have different cravings because your blood sugar is not low anymore; you’re not craving sweets. You have a nice, healthy dinner and then in the evenings you don’t have the junk food cravings either.

So for some people, I do recommend listening to the evening visualization CD in the afternoon also. And I just this week recorded a morning visualization CD because in the second month of my program, I talk about getting up in the morning and doing five or ten minutes of visualization. This particular CD’s about fifteen minutes right now or eighteen minutes. I’m trying to cut it down just a little bit, but it’s a really powerful one that does the spinning of the spine technique that I talk about to get into the SMART Mode, so that you can have a really powerful visualization. Then it guides you through visualizations for healing your body, for visualizing your ideal weight, and then at the end visualizing having an incredible day and an incredible life, and bringing all the elements of your life together at the end so that you start your day, and you’ve really just focused your mind on attracting to you, health, success, vitality, and transforming your body at the same time. So it’s a morning visualization CD. I just recorded it. It’s going to take probably a couple weeks of editing and —

Kelly:  

Oh, what a great addition. Yes.

Jon:  

And I’ll post it on my forum when it’s ready because a lot of people have asked for that. So then you have a CD that you can listen to first thing in the morning, and then a CD at night. In between the two of them — you start your day, you’re fresh., all the stress is gone, you’re focused, your energy is flowing, you’ve got vitality. The day goes smoothly and then at the end, you finish your day with a visualization at the end, and that’s a really great way to live both sides of your life. It’s almost like bookends; one side, first thing in the morning and just before you go to sleep. You’re getting rid of the stress, you’re getting focused on both sides of that, and I can’t tell you what a huge difference it would have in your life. [Brief Interruption].

Okay. We’ve got some callers here and if they have questions, they need to press one, and then we can answer their questions. But there are some callers. We’ll take calls in a minute. But anyway, I’m saying to do visualization from both sides in the morning and in the evening is really —

Kelly:  

Yes, this sounds like a great balance there.

Jon:  

Yes.

Kelly:  

Nice, very nice.

Jon:  

Yes.

Kelly:  

I was speaking to somebody, a model, actually who has no problem being thin. She’s one of those people who could eat anything, and is benefiting from listening to the tape. I mean even — she doesn’t have a weight problem, but she’s got the problems that we all have and —

Jon:  

Yes, the stress and —

Kelly:  

Yes, huge stress in her job.

Jon:  

Of course.

Kelly:  

She said, “I wish he would do a tape for people who don’t have a weight problem that just –“

Jon:  

Well, yes, the next tape I’m going to do is just general health and well being because so many people have talked about that and —

Kelly:  

And so many have.

Jon:  

I’ve gotten a lot of comments from people that don’t need to lose weight, that they had other health problems, and those health problems have cleared up. And the reason is, because so many health problems are the result of your body reacting to stress. And it’s kind of strange, it’s almost like what your body is doing when it’s reacting to stress is that it’s actually trying to protect you from the mental and emotional stress in your life, because our bodies are designed to adapt to stress in such a way as to protect you.

The perfect example is, if you’re in the jungle and you’re walking along and a tiger jumps out and starts chasing you, well there’s three things your body’s going to do. The first thing your body‘s going to do is it’s going to interpret the stress, then it’s going to react to the stress, and then it’s going to adapt to the stress. So the interpretation is the tiger’s chasing me. The reaction is run like hell.

But the adaption is the key here to really determining all the problems that we’re having in life with stress; it’s the way your body adapts to stress. Now, in that case, your body’s going to adapt to stress by saying, “We need to be as thin and strong as possible.” So that’s an adaptation to stress. But —

Kelly:  

What’s beautiful about what you do is unlike any other plan or any other thing I’ve followed, is that you’re really teaching us about how our bodies want to protect us. We’re not trying to discount it. We’re trying to invite the body back in. It’s a whole other approach.

Jon:  

That’s right. It’s a miscommunication between your mind and the mental world you live in and the emotional world you live in and your physical body. So your body’s adapting to stress in that way like in that instance, and then if you were in a famine that’s another type of stress. Your body’s going to adapt to that stress by wanting to have extra weight on, but we’ve got all these mental and emotional stresses and our bodies are trying to adapt to them and they don’t know how to adapt to it, and it’s causing all kinds of health problems. And it’s causing devitalization and energy blockages and a vicious cycle which I talk about in my seminars. There’s a vicious cycle that happens when you have stress; it causes devitalization. That causes negative thinking which causes more stress and more devitalization and you have this kind of negative spiral.

And all this whole while, your body’s trying to protect you from it doesn’t know what. Because you’re late for work or you can’t make your mortgage payment or the stock market went down or you’ve got an abusive boss or you’re not getting along with your husband, your body’s trying to protect you from that. And it causes all kinds of health problems, and it causes obesity, and it causes, also for some people, anorexia, so it could go either way. But the main thing is when you learn how to live a less stressful life, you’ve taken care of so many health problems. And I’ve had so many people tell me that they didn’t have weight problems, but they’ve had other kind of chronic illnesses, and those problems have gone away.

Also I’ve had people tell me that they've been addicted to drugs and alcohol are no longer addicted to it because — they’ve done some interesting studies with what I call SMART Mode, which consciousness researchers call the alpha and the beta state, and what they’ve discovered is that people that are addicted to alcohol, for example, they can’t get into that alpha state unless they drink. And it’s the same with drugs. They need that drug or that stimulant to get into the alpha state.

What the CD teaches you how to do is it teaches you how to get into that alpha state by yourself, and then you’re not reliant on the drug or the alcohol, and it becomes much easier to give it up. So I’ve had people just tell me that they just don’t crave alcohol anymore.

So a lot of very positive things have happened and I wanted to tell you about — I had a really powerful experience a couple of days ago. There’s a lady that does a show on Blog Talk called — her name’s Lady ReRun, and she’s in Georgia, and she’s had a weight problem all her life. And she called me and emailed me, and wanted me to come onto her show and try to help her. I spent an hour talking to her and we got to a place where we realized that her weight problems were the result of issues that she had had ever since childhood with her father, and letting go of her father because her father passed away five years ago. And we went through it and it was just really powerful for her. And she had this sort of ah-hah moment, and I think she might be calling in at some point today. She might be one of the callers and we can talk to her and she wants to tell us about her experiences.

Kelly:  

That’d be great.

Jon:  

But you can listen to it on the Lady ReRun Show. It was a Lady Rerun Show that was on Monday night, this past Monday, if you want to listen to it, or if callers want to listen to it, it gives you a real insight into how weight is not just a function of calories in and calories out, because this is a woman who’s been trying to lose weight all of her life and she’s tried all the diets and Atkins and all this kind of stuff and it just keeps coming back. And she was really able to target that it really wasn’t about willpower or force, it was about understanding the kind of emotional pain and the emotional associations that she had made that had caused her to put weight on.

Kelly:  

Well I love what you said the other week. You just said this is not about losing weight for your reunion. This is about getting rid of this problem once and for all.

Jon:  

Right.

Kelly:  

And I love that. We don’t hear that enough and I think what you’re doing is just so amazingly important. It’s amazing. He's doing a healing here for the world, his true calling, and I’m just so happy to be teeny weenie part of it. But we have callers tonight I would imagine?

Jon:  

There will be some callers coming in in just a minute, but hold on one second.

Kelly:  

I know I’ve got a lot of mail about SMART Mode and people were wondering –even now I’m getting it, what SMART Mode’s an acronym for.

Jon:  

It stands for Super Mental Alert Re-education Training Mode because when you’re in this smart mode, you’re very, very trainable.

Kelly:  

And this is a very pivotal part of your program.

Jon:  

Yes. And what I talk about with it is that, you know when you're a kind, you make an association when you’re a kid, and somebody says something and it stays with you for the rest of your life. I had a friend who used to always come over my house and I’d always offer him some food, make him lunch, whatever. And he’d never eat any of the food that I offered him. And he'd make a joke. He'd say, “Well, it’s Ramadan; it’s this, it’s that,” and he wasn’t a Muslim, but he’d say, “It’s Ramadan,” so he can’t eat during the day. But he’d make all these jokes, and finally I said to him, “What’s going on? My cooking’s not that bad. Why don’t you eat it?” He said when he was ten years old, a friend of his made a sandwich for him and his friend spit in it.

Kelly:  

Oh, my goodness.

Jon:  

Yes. And didn’t tell him and then he ate the sandwich, and since then — he was 40 years old — since then he’s never been able to eat anything that a friend made for him.

Kelly:  

My goodness.

Jon:  

One incident, when you’re 10 years old, it left such an indelible impression that for thirty years — and he’s a thin guy. Think of all the meals he’s missed because he can’t eat anything that a friend’s prepared for him. But the reason is, when you’re a kid, you’re very impressionable because you spend most of your time in that SMART Mode state, and it can be positive or negative.

I think last show I talked about that lady on Oprah who came home — when she was a little girl and she came home and she said, “Mommy, Mommy, guess what? I took an aptitude test at school and they said I could be a good telephone operator”. And she said, “That’s great, hon. Maybe someday you can own the telephone company”. And this lady is now a self-made billionaire. So it’s just one chance comment that her mother made and for the rest of her life, it stayed with her.

It’s because when you’re a kid, you are extremely impressionable, and it’s because you’re in this SMART Mode. And the beauty is, you can get back into this SMART Mode using the spinning the spine technique or listening to the music, and once you’re in that SMART Mode, you can retrain yourself.

So you can put those positive associations into your head. Like I just talk about when you’re in SMART Mode imagining every cell of your body saying, “Weight loss is easy. I release the weight. I let it go.” Or forgiveness, because forgiveness is such an important thing for us because we hold on to the pain in our life, and by holding on it’s like your body’s holding on. It’s holding on to weight; you’re holding on. Your body’s going to hold on, and so when you let go, your body lets go, because we live all through our bodies. We’re not just a mind in a body. We are living consciousness; our bodies are living consciousness. And so when you’re holding on, your body’s holding on. So by letting go, you can let go of the weight.

So getting into that SMART Mode and just imagining every cell of your body saying, “I release the weight, I let go, I forgive, I allow love.” Whatever the issue is that you’re working in, you’re reassociating and you’re retraining on a cellular level.

Kelly:  

Yes, on a cellular level.

Jon:  

Yes, to be successful.

Kelly:  

Yes. You know I’ve always said it. My body will have the last word. I’ve always said that and I think that to be so true, and your program just constantly confirms that all the time.

Jon:  

Yes. So that’s the power of SMART Mode.
