Jon:  

I’ve got Kim from Colorado calling in.

Kim:  

Hello Jon.

Jon:  

Hi Kim. How are you?

Kim:  

Pretty good. I’m so glad to be able to talk to you.

Kelly:  

Kim, feel free to really project out. Can hardly hear you.

Kim:  

Okay. I’ve been listening to the CD for about two months now. I do have sleep apnea and have a CPAP machine. I have problems with the blood sugar issues, the blood sugar is high. I need to lose over 100 pounds. I heard you talking to the other person about getting cravings in the afternoon. That’s definitely me. I’m actually not even hungry until late afternoon, so I have a hard time even eating in the morning because I’m not hungry.

Jon:  

And you’re hungry late at night, too, right?

Kim:  

Yes and I’m tired. Tired a lot.

Jon:  

You’re tired a lot?

Kim:  

Yeah. Then I’ve been trying to cut out maybe grains and I’ve been eating more of the salads and –

Jon:  

Cutting out things is a good short term — get some short-term results from that, but it’s not going to affect the fact that you’re tired, it’s not going to affect the fact that you’re having sugar cravings and nighttime cravings. What I do want to talk to you about, Kim, is the stress in your life –

Kim:  

There’s a lot of stress.

Jon:  

– because already I’m talking to you — it’s funny, I’ve been doing this so long like, I talk to someone and instantly I just get like — feel the stress. I have to talk to Kim about stress. So, Kim, let me talk to you about stress because I’m feeling really strongly that the stress in your life is really where we need to go. Because we can talk about cutting grains until you’re blue in the face, but if we’re not able to create a situation for you where you’re feeling more flow in your life, then there’s going to be an issue.

Kim:  

When I listen to the CD at night I put it on repeat, so I essentially have it running all night long until I wake up in the morning.

Jon:  

Well, let me just — just tell me a little bit about what your life’s like right now, because I’m getting stressed, stressed, stressed.

Kim:  

Well, right now we’re — lot of stress, financial stress especially.

Jon:  

Financial stress, I just want to point out, is an interesting type of stress as it relates to the FAT programs, and really the way our mind and body communicate. Because what’s really incredible about our mind/body is that our body is always trying to protect us from the mental stresses in our life, and it doesn’t know how to protect us, but it really is trying. Our body is actually programmed to try to keep us safe and it doesn’t — the biggest problem in all of our lives, most people don’t even know it exists, is that our bodies don’t know the difference between a real and imagined stress or a real and imagined experience, and our bodies don’t know that there’s a physical stress and a mental stress.

So if you are walking down the street and a bear jumps out and starts chasing you, that’s a physical stress and your body is going to know what to do. It’s going to run away and it’s going to adapt by making you thin and strong and lean so you can always run away from bears. If you imagine a bear chasing you, your body thinks it’s real. Your heart starts — did you ever have a dream where you were being chased and you wake up and your hearts pounding and you’re sweating?
Kim:  

Yes.

Jon:  

Your body is trying to make you run away from this dream, and so your body is always trying to protect you from the stresses in your life. Now when you’re worried about finances which, in this environment so many people are, think about what you’re doing for a second. You’re saying resources are limited, we need to conserve, we need to hold on, we can’t spend, we need to save. Those are the type of thoughts that you’re having and those thoughts are charged with stress and fear; is that right?

Kim:  

Right, right.

Jon:  

Right. So what your body is saying, is your body thinks there’s some kind of real threat and your body doesn’t know what money is and it doesn’t know what your mental world is, but it knows resources, it knows conservation, it knows saving. And the way it interprets that message is that it needs to save resources. Now the only resource your body can save is guess what…

Kim:  

The fat.

Jon:  

Right. Fat is the only resource your body knows how to save. So when you send a message to your body that resources are limited, we need to save, your body interprets that as we need fat because fat is a resource, right? Because let’s face it, if, God forbid, something happened and you couldn’t afford anymore, you’d have that resource. And not only that if, God forbid, you were out on the street, having that extra fat will keep you warm when it’s cold out. So your body is trying to protect you from what you’re afraid of. You’re afraid that these things might happen and your body is trying to protect you. So if your body is trying to protect you from that and then you go on a diet, it only makes it worse because it only reinforces in your head that resources are limited, right?

Kim:  

Right, right.

Jon:  

So the first thing I just want to say is that you’re in this situation and resources are limited and you need to at least be aware that you’re actually communicating to your body that it needs to hold on to fat. So you need to –

Kim:  

But how do I do that?

Jon:  

Okay. I’m going to tell you, but I want you to start by just having a moment and being aware of that. Because believe it or not, just by having that awareness, you’re already changing. You’re already somehow communicating to your body that this is a mistake. You’re getting more in touch with what’s going on. So I just want you to take a moment and be aware of that.

Now what I’d like to do is I’d like to offer you a visualization to help you communicate to your body that resources are not limited. So and this visualization can really do two things. Well, it does several things. One, it’s going to make you feel less stressful. It’s going to communicate to your body that resources aren’t limited, and it may even help you create money, because they talk about the law of attraction and what you’re thinking you magnetize. So if you’re thinking fear and resources are limited you’re going to bring that to you, and if you have this feeling of abundance you may be brining that to you. And I don’t necessarily want to get into the argument of how valid that is. I do want to say that, from my own experience, I find 100% that there’s a huge correlation between how I’m thinking and feeling in terms of my life and my flow and whether it’s love and relationships or abundance, and the actual reality of it. I just believe our minds are so powerful that we have the ability to attract to us whatever it is that we’re thinking about.

So not only will it help you to lose weight and feel less stress, it may, and I’m just saying may, help you become more abundant. And even if it doesn’t, it’s still going to help you lose weight.
Kim:  

Okay.

Jon:  

So here’s the visualization, and I think I talk about it in my book. I’d like you just to imagine you’re sitting in this ocean, unlimited ocean of abundance, whatever that means to you. Security, safety, resources, money, it’s abundance and it’s unlimited, it’s infinite oceans as far as you can go and you’re just sitting in it. And it’s not an ocean of water, you can breath, but it’s an ocean. and it’s limitless and it’s abundance. And just one drop, let’s just talk money just for a second, just one drop of this ocean is more money than Bill Gates will ever have in 10 lifetimes, just one drop, okay, imagine one drop. Now you’re seeing this ocean and I’d like you just to imagine for a second that the pores of your skin open up and all of this water comes rushing in, all of this abundance just comes rushing in. Yeah?

Kim:  

Mm-hmm.

Jon:  

And when that happens, I’d like you to communicate to your body resources are infinite.

Kim:  

Resources are infinite? Is that what you said?

Jon:  

Infinite. My abundance is infinite. All I have to do if I want abundance is open up the pores of my skin, just allow it to flow through, and forget about whether or not it’s true or not. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t, don’t get stuck there, because the point is it works. It’s going to help you lose weight. And if it is true, then you also have a tool to help you create abundance. So maybe it’s true, maybe it’s not, but just communicate to your body, all I have to do is just open up the pores of my skin and just allow abundance to flow to me. It’s not something I have to go out and fight for, it’s not something I have to kill for, I just have to allow it.

Kim:  

Okay. So I should do that daily then?

Jon:  

Yeah.

Kim:  

Okay. All right. Well, thank you very much.

Jon:  

You should do it daily, and are you working?

Kim:  

No.

Jon:  

So do you have time in the afternoons?

Kim:  

Yes.

Jon:  

I recommend that you listen to the CD in the afternoons.

Kim:  

Okay.

Jon:  

And at night, and then just follow the other suggestions in the book. But for you, whatever you can do to communicate to your body that resources are abundant, that this is not a time of famine, will hit the mark for you, okay?

Kim:  

Okay. Well, thank you so much. I appreciate it.
