Jon:

Hey, Joe?

Joe:

Yes, hi, John?

Jon:

Yeah, hi, how are you?

Joe:

Fine, fine. I want to ask you a question, if I may. Is that okay?

Jon:

Yeah, where are you calling from?

Joe:

Long Island, New York.

Jon:

Okay, where in Long Island?

Joe:

Pachaug.

Jon:

Okay, where is Pachaug? Is that in -

Joe:

Western Suffolk County, about 55 miles from Montauk.

Jon:

Okay, yeah I used to go to Montauk — I lived in New York City for about seven years. I used to go to Montauk on the weekends.

Joe:

Okay. Well, can I ask you the question?

Jon:

Yes, please.

Joe:

Okay, I was born — I’m in my mid-fifties and I was born Celiac. And the first two years of my life I almost died, and since then I’ve gotten better and better; as better as I could be. And I‘ve had horrible bouts all of my life with digestion problems laxative dependency, constipation, different things. Getting a colonoscopy for me is literally a two day or a three day prep, where it’s nothing for somebody else. I don’t know what to do. I don’t know if you have ever spoken to anybody who had this condition before.

Jon:

Yeah, I’m not an expert on the condition, but I have had a lot of people tell me that they have it, and that it’s improved a lot following some of the suggestions from The Gabriel Method. And I have dealt with a lot of different things, but maybe you could just describe a little bit about, for the listeners, what Celiac disease is so people understand it better, and then I can tell you –

Joe:

Okay. Well, when I was born, Celiac — I had acute Celiac and I almost died, from what I understand, and it was the inability for me to eat anything at all and absorb nutrition, except, believe it not, some bananas that ended up saving my life. Then as gradually I lived on and on and on, I became as normal. I have a Gluten intolerance, I would guess it is. That’s what Celiac is. It’s a Gluten intolerance, but I am not classically sick or afflicted like that.

To give you an example, before going for a Colonoscopy, which all adults have to do, or should do past a certain age, the prep is usually very normal for somebody; they drink it; they get cleaned out; they go to the doctor; doctor puts them to sleep and the examination is over. For me, I cannot take the prep, because the prep — yes, sir.

Jon:

I’m listening.

Joe:

The prep goes in my mouth and a normal person takes it and ingests it, and the body reacts normally causing the person to be cleaned out by going to the bathroom normally with diarrhea and then they’re fine.

Jon:

Yeah.

Joe:

For me –

Jon:

I understand. Let me ask you a couple a questions now, Joe. First of all, do you eat wheat products right now?

Joe:

Yes, I do.

Jon:

And how is that reacting to you?

Joe:

I am laxative dependent. I am completely laxative dependent.

Jon:

Okay, tell me. Do you have — what is your weight situation? How much weight are you looking to lose?

Joe:

Oh, 50. 50, 60 pounds.

Jon:

50, 60 pounds.

Joe:

I weigh 275, 277; I’m six foot, two.

Jon:

Okay, so for the Australian listeners, that’s probably about a hundred and twenty five kilos. Okay, and you’re looking at losing —

Joe:

Almost three hundred pounds.

Jon:

Yeah, okay and you’re looking to lose 50, 60 pounds. How long have you had a weight problem?

Joe:

The weight problem came on gradually. Gradually, when did it start becoming obvious? The ‘80s? In the ‘80s.

Jon:

Okay, this is what I think is happening. Okay, because you have a problem digesting and assimilating nutrients, your body’s in a sort of nutritional famine, and your body’s going to keep creating food, and naturally when you’re in a nutritional famine, you’re going to start craving more junk food and wheat and bread and things like that, and so you’re eating these foods, but you’re not getting the nutrients that you need.

So what’s happening is your body’s eating — you’re continuing to eat bread and things like that, and that’s adding to your body’s fat stores, and your body wants to hold on to your fat stores because of this nutritional famine, so the –

Joe:

I understand that but I just want to tell you something. If you gave me a little Flaxseed to just do an experiment to see –

Jon:

You couldn’t have it, I know.

Joe:

- you would see that no, no good for me.

Jon:

I know. I understand, Joe. So there’s a couple of things I want to recommend. Are you familiar with Jordan Rabin and the Maker’s Diet and Garden of Life?

Joe:

No, I’m not.

Jon:

Okay, you might want to do a search for the Maker’s Diet and Garden of Life -

Joe:

Did you say Makers, M-a-k-e-r-s?

Jon:

Yeah, Maker’s. Yeah, this is a guy who had a huge problem because he couldn’t digest and assimilate nutrients and he became almost skeletal. And he developed a formula of probiotics and digestive microbes that was able to replenish his digestive system and enable him to start absorbing and digesting nutrients. And so I’m just going to recommend those to you, the nutrients that he developed because he sells them now, and I think they’re excellent. So, and they’re called Primal Defense.

Joe:

Primal Defense.

Jon:

Primal Defense, a probiotic.

Joe:

Okay.

Jon:

It’s called Primal Defense and it’s made by Garden of Life.

Joe:

Garden of Life. Got it.

Jon:

Like Garden of Eden, and of you do a search on the Internet for Primal Defense and Garden of Life, and they’ll come up. And then the other one that he makes is a digestive enzyme called Omegazyme.

Joe:

Omegazyne.

Jon:

Yeah, Omegazyme. Omega z-y-m-e. That’s a digestive enzyme. What I’d like you to do is take — of the Primal Defense, take five in the morning on an empty stomach and take five at night before you go to sleep.

Joe:

Okay, does that cause any distention or any gas or bloating or anything else?

Jon:

I don’t know; you want to check with your doctor if you have any questions about it. Especially about anything that I’m recommending, just check with your doctor if it’s going to cause a problem. You might want to check with him and then if he says it’s okay, try it. But what —

Joe:

Well, believe it or not, my doctor knows less than me. My doctor is up –

Jon:

Check with a health care professional that knows more than — that understands the benefit of taking probiotics and digestive enzymes. Check with them first –

Joe:

All right.

Jon:

- but, or just try one capsule and see what happens. But what it is, is it’s friendly microbes and bacteria that we all need to digest and assimilate nutrients. And what it does is it repopulates your digestive track with all of these friendly microbes and bacterias that will help digest nutrients. So you want to take — from the Primal Defense, you want to take five in the morning on an empty stomach and five at night before you go to sleep, and then from the digestive enzymes, the Omegazymes, you want to take two capsules with each meal and those enzymes are going to help you to digest and assimilate nutrients.

Joe:

Okay.

Jon:

Then as far as getting nutrients into your body, there’s a couple of different ways you could do it. You can’t have flaxseeds, but you can have flaxseed oil.

Joe:

Okay.

Jon:

And you can have fish oils. So you want to make sure you get the flaxseed oils and fish oils. I would recommend that you take five or ten grams of fish oils a day.

Joe:

Okay.

Jon:

And maybe a tablespoon or two of flaxseed oil in your salad. Can you have salads? You can’t have salads and things like that probably, too, right? That’s going to bother you?

Joe:

Salads, yeah, I can have a salad.

Jon:

Okay, so when you have salads, use flaxseed oil as a dressing. And now how about things with protein in them? Can you take protein? Fish, chicken -

Joe:

Yes.

Jon:

- or egg? Yeah, so you want to eat –

Joe:

Yes.

Jon:

Okay, so in your meals, you want to have protein like fish, chicken, eggs; you want to have salad or some sort of live food. You want to use flaxseed oil as a dressing and you want to take these digestive enzymes with them. Now the best nutrient you can possibly get that’s totally effortlessly digestible and assimilable is freshly squeezed wheatgrass juice that you could probably -

Joe:

Okay, I’ve tried that.

Jon:

Okay, you could probably, if you want, you could go to like Fresh Fields or something like that, and they grow the wheat; you could buy the wheat trays from them and you can juice them yourself, if you want.

Joe:

Yes, I’ve tried that. I’ve had that in the past.

Jon:

Okay.

Joe:

It comes out very, very green.

Jon:

Yeah, exactly. Okay –

Joe:

Yeah, I’ve tried that.

Jon:

Okay, I would recommend that you get a shot of wheatgrass everyday on a daily basis because that’s a really effective way to get nutrients into your system. So, in doing these things, you are going to nourish your body more, and your body’s not going to be in a nutritional famine.

Joe:

Okay.

Jon:

Okay, and so what’s going to happen is over time, your body’s going to lose weight because you’re not going to be as hungry; you’re not going to be craving the wheat bread anymore, and your metabolism is going to speed up. Do you listen to the CD that I made, any visualization CD?

Joe:

I haven’t obtained it yet.

Jon:

Okay, you can get it for free from my website. If you go to gabrielmethod.com, and you go into Resources, and you go to gabrielmethod.com; go under resources and download the CD. Now, do you have the book?

Joe:

No, I do not have the book yet. I haven’t obtained anything yet.

Jon:

Okay, you haven’t obtained it. So you really want to get — okay, but at least with the CD, the CD is really for people that have got the book already because you have to put in like a code word. But, I’ll tell you what it is. You just type in heart, h-e-a-r-t; that’s the code word and that’ll enable you to download the visualization CD. And then download that. I’d like you to listen to that at night because that’ll take care of whatever stress is in your life while activating these FAT programs.

So between the two things of adding these probiotics and digestive enzymes that will help you digest and assimilate nutrients, and so you’re not going to be nutritionally starving anymore, and by reducing the stresses in your life and using the visualization CD, you’ll be able to address your weight issues much more effectively. And what you’ll find is, over time, you’re simply not going to be as hungry. You’re not going to create the types of foods that make you fat. You’re probably not going to be as hungry as night. I don’t know if you get — do you get hungry at night before you go to sleep?
Joe:

Yes, the nighttime is the bad time for snacking.

Jon:

Yeah.

Joe:

Which I know is true for most people.

Jon:

Is that true for you?

Joe:

Yes.

Jon:

Do you — okay, what’s going to happen — what I would look to see is by doing this over a month’s time, what I would be wanting to see for you is that you are not hungry at night anymore. Yeah, if you’re not hungry at night anymore, you’re going to start to lose weight. That’s a signal that the FAT programs have been turned off.

Joe:

Yes.

Jon:

Okay, so that’s what I would be looking for. Now do you eat a good breakfast? You need to eat a really, really good breakfast in order to be not hungry at night, also. So, I recommend a breakfast that’s very high in both protein, Omega 3 fatty acids, and some sort of live food; so, you could have eggs with a salad with flaxseed oil. You could make yourself — there’s some recipes on my website, also. If you go into Resources and look under recipes, there’s some breakfast suggestions. But you want something — you need to have a good breakfast that’s got lots of protein and live food and Omega 3s to keep your blood sugar stable during the day, so that at the end of the day you don’t this low blood sugar episode that causes the junk food cravings. So eat frequently during the day; drink a lot of water at night; eat an early dinner.

And the three components of what you want to add to your meal, make sure there’s always a good source of protein, some sort of live food like a salad, and some sort of Omega 3s, like fish oils or fish or flaxseed oil.
Joe:

Okay. Of the places you know that are best to get these oils and supplies from, can you recommend any place that — because not every place is equal; you know that. Can you recommend some?

Jon:

Well, no — for fish oils? Is that what you’re —

Joe:

Yeah, like — yeah, well, in these products.

Jon:

Okay, there’s a really good website called betterlife.com.

Joe:

Betterlife.com. Okay.

Jon:

Betterlife.com. I would go to that; they have everything.

Joe:

Beautiful. That sounds good to me.

Jon:

Okay. All right, so check back in a month. Maybe when I do my Webinar in January, Joe, check back and let me see where you’re at. What I’m looking for is for you to tell me that you’re not hungry at night anymore, and then we can take it to the next level, okay?

Joe:

Okay, and thank you very, very much for calling, and I would love to be helpful for you and for others like me in the future.

Jon:

I appreciate it very much, Joe. Thanks very much.

Joe:

Thank you very, very much. Bye-bye, sir.

Jon:

You’re welcome. Take care. Bye.
